Akoya was bred as a cross between Zenith and a Hopsteiner male. German hops begin to be harvested annually in the fall, from the end of August into September.
Flavour & Aroma Profile
Akoya is an aroma hop typically used in late boil additions, including dry hopping.
The aroma of raw hops can be described as herbal, citrus and tea-like, and slightly fruity with mint notes. Good resistance to diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew and Vertilicium wilt as well as drought stress. The main growing country is Germany. A classic aroma hop was crossed in the Hopsteiner breeding program from the English variety Zenith and a male Hopsteiner breeding line.

Weight Limits:
The weight limit is 30kg for DPD and 70kg for DHL, either by volumetric or actual, whichever is greater. (Remember, a large packing box weighs 1kg of that total weight).
