BIAB stands for “Brew In A Bag”, and it’s quickly become a lot of homebrewers’ favourite way to brew beer using all grain recipes — including some of us here at Get Er Brewed.

How It Works

Crushed malt is added to a muslin or mesh bag, which is then tied or sealed. This bag is then added to the hot liquor, just as you would add the mash. Think of it like adding a tea bag to a mug of hot water.

Leave the bag in to mash, then remove it when you’ve extracted all you need from the malt inside. Job done!
