Caustic Soda Liquor - 25kg

The product is manufactured through a membrane process. It is not supplied as a food-grade product as it is intended for use as a cleaning agent instead of an ingredient in beverage manufacturing. It is compliant with current EU Food Regulations and is recognised as the industry standard for cleaning within the food industry. However, it can also treat water intended for human consumption and complies with EN 896.

• Caustic Soda Liquor 70 Tw is designed for use in the mash tun, mash vessel, decoction vessel, cereal cookers, mash filters, boiling kettles, hops strainer and many other areas.
  
• It is suitable for stainless steel and can be used at high temperatures (the max temperature is 80°C).
  
• This product is ideal for removing protein, dextrin, gum cellulose, hemicelloses, mucilage, pectin, tannin, and mineral salt deposition and scaling.
  

Guidelines for use

• Check that the product is within its shelf life before use,
  
• Care should be taken to avoid contact with eyes and skin by the use of suitable gloves and googles
  
• In case of contact with the skin or eyes, wash with plenty of water
  
• Read the Safety Data Sheet before use (SEE SPECIFICATION TAB)
  
• Wash spillages to drain with plenty of water
  
• It is not suitable for use on aluminium, zinc, tin or their alloys
  

Rates of Use

• Caustic Soda Liquor 70 Tw is 32% sodium hydroxide and should be added to water to give a final concentration as caustic of 1-2%. Therefore 3 to 6 litres of Caustic Soda Liquor 70 Tw per hl of water is required.
  
• Where the hardness of water is greater than 200 mg/litre as CaCO3, an additional sequestrant, such as a Sequesterant Additive, may be required to provide the necessary sequestering power.
