Chamomile Flowers - 1KG
Chamomile (American English) or camomile (British English); is the
common name for several daisy-like plants of the family Asteraceae. Two
species, Matricaria chamomilla and Chamaemelum nobile, are commonly used
to make herbal infusions for beverages.
There is insufficient
scientific evidence that consuming chamomile in foods or beverages has
any beneficial effects on health. Chamomile may be used as a flavouring
agent in foods and beverages, mouthwash, soaps, or cosmetics.
Use in brewing
Chamomile
has historically been used in making beer and ale. Unlike tea, where
only the flowers are used, the whole plant has been used to make beers
and ales, adding a bitter flavour component favoured by craft breweries
and homebrewers.
Dried Chamomile flowers can be used in Belgian Witbier added in the last 5 minutes of the boil along with bitter orange peel and coriander seeds.
It is also used in gin and has a mild, clean, floral flavour with subtle fruity hints.Delivery from Get Er Brewed
