Get Er Brewed’s Top Tips for New Cidermakers

It's super simple to make good cider using one of our cider making kits if you follow the following three top tips from our brewing team:


  • Sterilise your equipment — Make sure everything is sterile during the process to avoid contamination. This is simple to do with our Geterbrewed Oxi No Rinse product. Bacteria, bugs and other forms of contamination can cause a brew to turn nasty.
  • Read the instructions — It’s boring, but it has to be done. As basic as it sounds you need to get the concentrations right and brew the ingredients correctly in your cider-making starter kit. Ignore the instructions and you could significantly affect your brew’s flavour.
  • Monitor the fermentation temperature — You want to achieve a constant fermentation temperature to keep the yeast happy. Your homebrew cider kit should allow fermentation at around 15 degrees for the ideal fruity cider.
