El Dorado T90 Hop Pellets / USA / 2023 / AA: 12.7%
El Dorado is believed to be derived from a neomexicanus subspecies of Humulus Lupulus, primarily providing fruity characteristics such as watermelon and stone fruits.
El Dorado is a relatively new kid on the block. It was created by Moxee Valley-based CLS Farms, LLC in 2008 and released to the public in 2010. A product of the Yakima Valley’s cooler climate, it features a uniquely fruity flavour profile and desirable bittering and aromatic properties. High vigour, high alpha acids, lots of oils and resins, good storage stability and an exceptional yield also make this, on paper at least, an outstanding commercial variety. It exhibits bold tropical fruit flavours, reminiscent of pineapple and mango, and a resinous back note. On the nose, it imbues aromas of pear, watermelon, stone fruits and even candy. It has been used in wheat beers, pale ales, and IPAs.
Aroma: Tropical Fruit, Watermelon, Stone Fruit. El Dorado hops have fruity notes, similar to tropical fruits, with hints of pear, melon, candy and dried fruit, bringing a variety of citrus notes.
Beer Style Guide: Wheat, India Pale Ale
