Spray / Liquid Malt
As with all brewing additives, Spray and Liquid Malt is an example of how every problem can be solved by a persistent homebrewer. Don’t start again if your fermentation slows, just add some high quality home brewing additives and (hopefully) all will be well!
What’s the difference between Spray Malt and Liquid Malt?
Spray Malt and Liquid Malt are both shelf-stable products made from the malt sugar maltodextrin.
Spray Malt is made by drying the sugars using a spray method, hence the name. A common misconception is that this product is applied using a spray method — it is in fact a dry powder that’s easy to store and manage.
Liquid Malt looks a lot like caramel or molasses, and does the same job as spray malt but takes up a little more space. It’s also a little cheaper.
Both products are made from high quality malted barley.
