Get Er Brewed Hop Formats
Choosing which format to buy your hops in comes down to personal preference, the recipe you are using, and value for money. For some home brewers, using whole hops is a way of keeping their beer as natural and traditional as possible, for others, using pellets can give intense results, with beers full of hop flavour and aroma.
The hop formats we sell are:
Whole Hops — the whole hop cone. Also known as leaf hops, these are hops that are harvested and kiln dried on the farm, checked for quality, and then packaged in foil as naturally as possible. We always nitro flush before sealing to keep them as fresh as possible.
Hop Pellets — leaf hops pressed into a handy pellet form. T90 pellets contain more than 90% of the non-resinous elements within the hop. T45 pellets have 45% of the vegetative matter remaining and are milled at sub-zero temperatures. Both types of pellets are quality checked before packaging in foil and flushed with nitrogen for freshness.
Liquid Hops — are hops processed to extract and concentrate the bitterness, flavours and aromas so they can be stored in a useful liquid format.

It’s always possible to buy hops from Get Er Brewed’s extensive selection, but for a consistent source of hops it’s wise to sign up for a hop contract to ensure you have no breaks in your supply.
Global demand for hops is increasing, and with some hops experiencing extremely high demand with lower rates of production. This in turn is driving prices up.
A hop contract stabilises pricing, and helps ensure you get a consistently impressive hop product from one origin. It’s risky relying on what’s currently in stock for supply as some key hop varieties are now contract only due to unsustainable demand.
Regular communication and conversations about your brewery hop needs and a two-way relationship mean we can both make the contracts work for each other. A hop contract gives the farmers confidence to plant more hops ensuring continued supply, and this in turn offers a more stable source for the hops you need.
*A hop contract is a legally binding agreement between the brewer who purchases and the hop merchant to supply a set amount of hops at a specific price, and the agreement usually lasts for 12 months.
A hop contract with Get Er Brewed is totally flexible. We can negotiate and explore options to help one another should your needs or circumstances change. We can’t promise to take everything back or give you all the extra hops you require; however, we will explore all possible options and try our best to be flexible.
