Get Er Brewed distillery malt is used and trusted by micro distilleries and home distillers to create clean, fresh, and delicious-tasting spirits.

The main aims of distilling or whiskey malt are to ensure full extraction can occur (ie. the most starches can be extracted to undergo conversion into sugars) and also, to provide high fermentability. Unlike beer brewing which counts on flavour, colour, aroma, as well as some enzymatic conversion of the malt, distilling requires an extremely efficient conversion to give as much fermentable sugar as possible.

At Get Er Brewed, we can supply peated malt too, from Muntons, which is smoked in a state-of-the-art peating production facility in Yorkshire. The peating plant is supplied with fresh green pot still malt from our maltings in Bridlington. The Malt is then kilned while being infused with peat smoke—ideal for making peaty whiskeys.
