Stericleanse is a sequestered, caustic-based detergent required in areas with hard water to prevent scale formation and deposition.
 
Stericleanse is designed for use on the mash tun, mash boiler, decoction vessel, cereal cookers, mash filters, boiling kettles, hops strainer, and many other areas. It is suitable for stainless steel and can be used at high temperatures (the max temp is 80°C).

Product Description
This product is ideal for removing protein, dextrin, gum cellulose, hemicelloses, mucilage, pectin, tannin, and mineral salt deposition and scaling.

Guidelines for use

• Check that the product is within its shelf life before use.
• Care should be taken to avoid contact with eyes and skin by the use of suitable gloves and goggles.
• In the event of contact with skin or eyes, wash well with plenty of water.
• Read the Safety Data Sheet before use.
• Wash spillages to drain with plenty of water.
• It is not suitable on aluminium, zinc, tin or their alloys.

Application and rates of use

• Stericleanse No 1 is 32% sodium hydroxide and should be added to water to give a final concentration as caustic of 1-2%. Therefore, three to six litres of Stericleanse No 1 per hl of water is required.
• Where water hardness is greater than 200 mg/litre as CaCO3, an additional sequestrant, such as Murphy's Sequesterant Additive, may be required to provide the necessary sequestering power; please ask our sales team for more information.

Storage and shelf life

• Store in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight and acids
• Keep container sealed when not in use
• Maximum storage temperature is 15°C
• The recommended storage temperature is 10°C
• The minimum storage temperature is 4°C
• The shelf life at the recommended storage temperature is two years from the date of manufacture
